How   It Works

SCANNER:

For best results photos should be scanned at a high resolution.

Low-cost home printers usually come with a scanner - use the following settings:

-  Format: JPG

-  Resolution: Highest possible or at least 300 or 600 dpi.

MOBILE PHONE SCAN:

Alternatively, if using your phone

download the app

PhotoScan by Google (Click image on right)

& follow the onscreen instructions.

CAMERA:

If you are taking a photo of the photograph with a camera, ensure you:

  • Take the photo square on

  • No flash but in good light

  • Ensure it is in focus (Important!)

  • Photograph in highest quality you can get from your camera / phone.

Once a clear image is taken please email  it to: michelleoconnordesigns@gmail.com

using the largest file size possible.

AN POST:

I am very happy to receive your original photographs by courier or post.

I do however recommend using registered post.

POST TO:

Michelle O'Connor Designs, Riverside House,

Woodmount, Ennistymon,

Co. Clare, V95 TR03

A quotation will be sent to you before I start work on a photo.

Prices start at €40 for Photo Restoration.

Colourisation starts at €30 EXTRA

Before I print or get payment I will email you a .pdf preview showing a "before and after" of your restored or repaired photo.

And only when I have your approval will I  continue with the work.

Please Note:

There are rare occasions when a complete restoration may not be possible, or would be too time-consuming (and therefore costly) to undertake.

I will let you know if this is the case, but of course I will still give it my best effort if you still wish me to do so!  Just bear in mind, the end results may not be up to the standards that I (or you) would like to achieve.

Some examples are:

  • Original photo severely out of focus.

  • Very blurred photo, either because the camera or the subject were moving,

  • Extremely small file size (under 50kb)
